Recite Me

We use a tool called Recite Me to create an accessible website which gives you control over how you view our content in a way that best suits you. You can access the toolbar at the top of any page on our website by clicking the ‘accessibility’ button which will show you a toolbar with different options to customise your experience. Find out more about how to use the toolbar below.

Playing Audio

Play: Click the Play button to read the text aloud

Back: Rewind to the previous paragraph of text

Forward: Skip forward to the next paragraph of text

Text Options

Font: You can change the font that displays on the page

Decrease: This will decrease the text size

Increase: This will increase the text size

Colour, Ruler & Screen Mask

Colour: Change the background, text and link colours

Ruler: Click to enable the reading ruler

Screen Mask: Will create a letterbox for focused viewing of a section of the page

Dictionary, Translation & Magnifier

Language: Translate text into a different language

Dictionary: Highlight and click on this to find the definition of the word

Magnifier: Click and drag the magnifying glass to magnify text on the screen

Plain Text Mode, Margins & Audio Download

Text Mode: Remove images and view in plain text mode

Margins: Change the text dimensions by narrowing the width of the text column

Download Audio: Highlight the text then click the button to download the text as an audio file

Settings

Settings: Adjust your Recite settings

Reset: This will restore the default settings

How To Use Page Zoom

  • Click ‘View’ to open the View menu
  • Select the ‘Zoom’ option
  • Select (+) to Zoom In or (-) to Zoom Out
  • To reset to normal size select 100%

Use Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Use the Ctrl key and (+) to zoom in and Ctrl key and (-) to zoom out
  • To reset to normal size use Ctrl key and (0)
  • In Mac OS X, use the Command key instead of Ctrl

Firefox

How To Use Page Zoom

  • From the View menu, select Zoom
  • You can now choose to Zoom In or Zoom Out
  • Repeat until the page is the desired size

Use Keyboard Shortcuts

  • Use the Ctrl key and (+) to zoom in and Ctrl key and (-) to zoom out
  • To reset to normal size use Ctrl key and (0)
  • In Mac OS X, use the Command key instead of Ctrl

Chrome
